Salman Khan Motivated AD on Sultan Set Using Mimoh Chakraborty’s Journey: ‘He Didn’t Even Get a Chance to Struggle’
Mimoh Chakraborty shared a touching memory of Salman Khan and how he stood by him during tough times.
Several artists from the film world have spoken about Salman Khan’s constant support in their professional paths. Recently, actor Mimoh Chakraborty, son of veteran star Mithun Chakraborty, opened up about an emotional incident involving Salman. He recalled how the Sikandar actor went out of his way to promote Mimoh’s first film Jimmy by screening its teaser alongside his own movie Partner.
In an interaction with Digital Commentary, Mimoh said,
“Salman bhai helped me a lot. He has always been like an elder brother. He deeply respects my father. It was his idea to attach the teaser of Jimmy with Partner in cinemas. Sohail Khan even came up with the name Jimmy.”
Although Jimmy’s preview was played with Partner, the movie did not perform well at the box office. Mimoh shared the emotional rollercoaster he experienced:
“I watched Partner in theatres with my entire family. The hall was packed. When my teaser was shown, the audience went silent, but a few seconds later, they started clapping and cheering. I felt like a star. But by Friday afternoon, everything fell apart. The film failed, calls stopped coming, and payments got canceled. It shattered me. I didn’t step outside for a year.”
He further recalled how Salman called him to the Sultan film set to uplift his spirits.
“He called my mom and asked her to send me over. Being with him was like being near royalty. During a conversation on set, he pointed towards me and told an assistant director, ‘You’re struggling to do your work, but look at him — he doesn’t even have the chance to struggle.’ That hit me hard. He told me not to lose hope and promised that opportunities would come. Even Abhishek Bachchan had told me — ‘Don’t give up. Remember who you are.’”
Though Mimoh went on to act in titles like Haunted – 3D, Loot, and Rocky, none of them gained commercial success. His latest appearance was in the series Khakee: The Bengal Chapter.
